It began with the Celtics, who called it Samhain. In 43 A.D. the Romans conquered the Celts, and incorporated their traditions with Samhain into a two-day celebration known as Feralia and Pomona. In the 8th century, the Christian Church replaced the Roman celebrations for their own, All Saint’s Day... however, two centuries later, the celebration was called All-Hallows Eve, and the day afterwards, All Souls Day.

The theme for this revel is "Back to Basics" which means that we are extending a special invitation to people who are new to the SCA to come and learn this organization from the ground up. But we can't do it all alone! So we are also inviting everyone else to come and help show the new comers what you have learned. We'd like to have people come and teach classes in anything you'd like, but keep it geared toward the new comers. And that's just during the day!!
