As the end of October nears , we can feel the Ice Dragon's breath upon the lands of our beloved AEthelmearc. With each rush of it mighty wings we can feel the great winds. Soon our lands will be covered with the ice and snow that The Ice Dragon brings with it. Aye, winter can be beautiful, but the hope of Spring is always on the edge of our thoughts. After a winter of indoor events, fighting and fencing indoors, and all that comes with those long winter months we will all be looking forword to Spring and the passing of the Ice Dragon from our lands.

Leave behind the cold winter of the Outlands and for one evening come to the sunny climate of Spain to celebrate with the Barony of Caerthe the Twelfth Night tradition.
At the end of the 15th century, Spain sat on the brink of her most wondrous chapter in history, the Siglo de Oro, or Golden Age. The year 1492 was perhaps the most decisive in the history of Spain. King Ferdinand of Aragon and Queen Isabella of Castile had realized their goal of reuniting Spain with their triumphant entry into Granada. Of course, this was also the year that Christopher Columbus, sailing under a Spanish flag, left for the Americas.

Join your brothers (and sisters) in arms at the Tavern Aurelius for a day of food, drink, contest, and celebration. Yes it is time for Tavern Tourney. Huzzah!!
In Ascalon on Christmas Eve in the year 1169, the Christian army has just returned from their second defeat in Egypt. The Hospitallers were part of that army and, of course do not really have the Christmas spirit. Michaelis Aurelius, a trader that often does business with the Hospitallers, has put together a Christmas Eve party to cheer his friends. Wanting to include all of his friends, Michaelis and his lovely wife Kateryn, also invited the Templars who refused to go with the army to Egypt and are often rivals with the Hospitallers. While discussing the party, with the Grand Masters of each order, an argument arose as to which was more in the Christmas spirit, the Reindeer of the Germans or the Gnomes of the French. Come join Michaelis party and support your order by showing your spirit. Are you a Templar displaying your Antlers or are you Hospitaller showing your pointed ears or gnomish garb. Come let us eat, drink, and be merry

Good friends, on this day in the fall of 1274 on the island of Tsushima (off the coast of Japan), we are about to witness historic events. The Mongols are prepared to invade Japan, and the negotiations and banquet today are an attempt to forestall the invasion. A wealthy Japanese lord has laid on an amazing day of festivities, highlighted by a feast guaranteed to delight all guests!
In honor of the attendees, the feast will feature courses of Mongol and Chinese cuisine, in addition to Japanese. Unfortunately, these important negotiations are destined to be marred by murder(s) most foul! But this is more than a stage play, and you dear friends are more than honored guests. We are counting on you to answer the age old questions “Whodunit?” and “why”? At the end of the afternoon, each guest will be asked to fill out a sheet of paper describing their interpretation of the mystery, and who the culprit(s) is(are). After evaluating the detectives’ work, the murderer(s) will be hauled off in chains to face the Emperor’s Justice, and the detective who solved the crime most correctly will win a prize.

Once you are inside the Commons, head to the right, past the mailboxes. When you reach the end of the mail boxes, take a left down that hallway and you will be on site! Look for the SCA signs once you have hit the right area of Grange.
