The Barony of Dreiburgen celebrates the Culinary Arts on July 15, 2006 by having a variety of classes and a potluck luncheon.
Site fee: $5.00 for SCA members plus $3.00 for non-SCA members. Please bring proof of membership.
Place: St. Michael's Epicopal Church at 4070 Jackson Street, Riverside, CA 92503. The event will take place in the parish hall of St. Michael's at the corner of Jackson and Hawthorned.

Join the Barony of Darkwood for our annual Arts and Sciences Tourney! We will have a full weekend of classes and workshops, a potluck dinner Saturday evening, the Bard of the Oaks Competition, and the first Oaken Chef competition.

We are at a NEW SITE this year! At Bolado Park in Tres Pinos, we will be camping at the Gate 4 campgrounds. This is across the street from Gate 2, where we usually enter and welcome our Barony population and visitors for our events.

The Barony of Twin Moons of the Kingdom of Atenveldt (Phoenix, Arizona) would like to invite you to experience the Middle East with us. We are holding our annual Middle East Feast on Saturday August, 19, 2006.
For those who have never attended, this is a day long, indoor event with drumming, dancing, merchants and a huge menu of Middle Eastern Food. You are encouraged to bring rugs, pillows, low coffee tables, drums, drapes so that the hall has an Eastern feel, and you have a place to lounge. An exhibit on the history of cooking and dining is now on display at the Austrian National Library in Vienna. The Art of Cuisine and the Culture of Dining: Culinary Documents from the Austrian National Library runs until October 31, 2006.

The first Roquefort cheese was made on June 4, 1070. Roquefort is a ewes' milk cheese with distinctive veins of blue mold.

The Victoria and Albert Museum in London is in possession of a unique artifact: a "culinary roller" dating to 1598 and bearing, among other decorations, a "pelican in her piety." One may only speculate possible SCA uses for this item.

Best known for her book Fabulous Feasts: Medieval Cookery and Ceremony, Madeleine Pelner Cosman has died at the age of 68 in California. She was also the founder of the Institute for Medieval and Renaissance Studies at City College of New York and the organizer of Manhattan's annual Cloisters medieval festival.

A team of cooks from House Golden Oak won the siege cooking contest at Estrella War XXII. They reportedly also went on to roast a whole pig - on site - for a feast for Their Majesties of the Outlands Sunday evening.

Attention cooks and brewers, teachers of the culinary and brewing arts, and those who partake of food and drink! Join us for a day of classes on all things edible and potable. On 11 February 2006 we will gather at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Newark, a wet site that is handicap accessible, has two kitchens, and six classrooms. There is a large gathering space for merchants, the all-day dayboard and the A&S display. Newark has many hotels within 5 to 15 minutes of the site. We are only a short drive from I-95. Contact Hedewigis for a list of nearby hotel/motel accomodations.

The 4th Bi-annual 'Known World Bardic College and Cooks Collegium' has been approved by Society and will be hosted by the Kingdom of Ealdormere on the October 6-9/2006 (Fri-Mon) long weekend in Acton, Ontario, Canada (a short 40 min ride form the Toronto Airport.
We will have 80 beds available, as well as full meal plans for the weekend, and day rates... (and are arranging good rates at local area hotels)
