Good gentles summer will be upon us soon and thus Prince Dietrich and Princess Rosalyn welcome you to witness the selection of the heirs to the Coronets of Oertha. Their Highnesses have chosen "The Crusades in the Lavent" as the theme of this Coronet. The Crusades in the Lavent involved most of the Christian nations bordering the northern coastline of the Mediterranean. These regions changed dramatically with various small "kingdoms" emerging and then being overtaken in the eastern part of the Mediterranean, as Muslims societies pushed into Anatolia (modern Turkey) and confronted the Byzantine Empire. Barony of Eskalya (Eagle River, Alaska)

The smell of battle covers the ancient battlefield like the clock of Chiron, and bitter metal smell of death permeates the cold dark. Upon this battlefield where a crooked flag hangs askew on top a lone hill, a long lost voice whispers of valor and victories long past.
A knight comes into view, dressed in well-used armor; he crests the hill and stands for a moment silent in the refreshing wind. He reaches out to the banner, and straightens it before setting it more deeply in to the moist earth, where the wind catches the edge of the flag pulling it taunt in the breeze, revealing the three purple arrows upon a field of gold.

Those that die with great bravery on the battle fields, hold a special place in Norse cosmology. They are the Einherjar, those that are chosen by Odin to fight on the sides of the Gods at Ragnorak. Every day they are awakened and march out to the great field to fight against each other in merry combat. At dusk they are all miraculously healed and march back to the hall of Valhalla, where they are served a great feast and enjoy merriment into the night. Location:
Barony of Small Gray Bear (Arkadelphia, Arkansas)
