DunDraCon 38 SCA demo

DunDraCon, one of the longest running gaming conventions, is bringing back the SCA demo track this year as Estrella has been moved to the end of February. Medievalists invade the Ames Free Library

Patrons of the Ames Free Library in Easton, Massachusetts were transported back to the Middle Ages when members of the Society for Creative Anachronism offered them a history lesson, with the group demonstrating its skills in crafts and combat. A photographer from the Easton Journal was on hand to capture the activities.

In the year A.S. 48, King Damien MacGavin of Calontir began challenging the populace of His Kingdom to think of the projects they had always dreamed of and take one year to complete them.  In response to this, Saito Takauji has begun an anthology of Tanka/Waka from all corners of the SCA.

Medieval Easter egg discovered in Ukraine

A 500 year old "pysanka" Easter egg was found during an archaeological dig of a cistern in Lviv, Ukraine. The egg is probably a goose egg and is very well preseved.

Pennsic A&S Display - Art & Research from around the Known World

This year the Pennsic A&S Display had more than 120 entrants displaying a wide range of work. There are 206 pictures of the Pennsic A&S Display up on the Photobucket pages of the organizer, Mistress Rowena ni Dhonnchaidh.
