The 2010 Thanksgiving Day Parade in Chicago included more than just the usual festive floats and marching bands. This year the Chicago Swordplay Guild, a live steel fighting organization, took part. WGN Television offers a video clip of their participation.

Armor, chain maille, clothing, weaving, food, decorations, etc. and learning the history of the time period we enjoy.

A picnic in grand style as we Receive Our new King, Crown Prince Gabriel and Queen, Crown Princess Constanzia on the most auspicious date of 15 January 2011 being the remembrance of the Coronation of Elizabeth 1 of England in 1559, which can only bring prosperity and harmony to Lochac.

With winter approaching and the victory of the Pennsic War safely in hand, we must not sit idle and let newly acquired or honed skills atrophy! One of the main tools that led to our victories in the field was the ability of our commanders and experienced fighters to strategize. We must also recognize the important contribution of the many new combatants who helped us win the rapier war points.

The winter months are upon us again. The Pennsic war drums have faded in the distance, and we have contented ourselves with counting our spoils in front of our warm hearth fires. Remember though… somewhere, right now, someone is training harder than you.

Barony of the Flame presents Christmas Tourney XXXIX on December 4th, 2010. Once again, it's time to gather up toys and coats for the Baron's toy tourney. This year, we'll be at a new site, with lots of space for plenty of activities.
