Masters thesis studies veracity of period combat manuals

In his Master of Arts Dissertation for the University of Exeter, Johann Keller Wheelock Matzke examines bioarcheology studies from five medieval digs for skeletal injuries to check the veracity of sources on medieval combat. A backstage misstep led to an SCA career for Bronx, NY native Sirhan al Cyani (Dwayne Herron), who tripped over a fellow high school student's duffel bag during play practice revealing the other student's helmet.“He was in the SCA and was headed to practice in Central Park. Poland and US take honors in Medieval Combat World Championships

Students live their medieval characters in Rhode Island

Sixth grade teacher Patricia Bastia of Warwick, Rhode Island has a favorite quote from Ben Franklin: "Tell me, I forget. Show me, I’ll remember. Involve me, I’ll understand."
