On an unusually warm and sunny winter afternoon, the Mayor of Smeewick steps up to the podium to deliver his address. "Good people of Smeewick, our town were once a beacon onto the Kingdom. Now, it has been ravaged beyond recognition by pirates and gypsies. We owe it to ourselves and our children to restore Smeewick to its former glory!"

Mummers prance, jesters grin, laughter swells like the seas, Archers shoulder their quivers full and music fills the air. Juggler's entrance, food delights, excitement buzzes like the bees, Fencers flash their blades dazzling and little children stare.

The Shire of Silfren Mere (in the Kindom of Northshield) and the Shire of Heraldshill are sponsoring a weekend of War. And no better weekend than Memorial Day weekend (May 26-29)! Today's SCA meets Yesterday's SCA! The Barony of Altavia welcomes all to hearken back to when Caid was a Principality: when a tree was a pavilion, when carpet armor was legal and helmets were Freon cans; when T-tunics and jeans were major costumes and hippy clothes were the height of SCA fashion; when Caidan thrones were cloth-covered fold-up aluminum chairs!

Those Pesky pirates have returned (how dare they!). As Privateers for the Crown, the Gardian is calling on Innilgard's archers for hire! We will pay Aztec Gold for those who help us defend Innigard's waters. Once 'boarded', we will be hiring Lights to send them packing! We urge the populace to view the spectacle from the 'beaches'. Bring a picnic lunch.

Come join The College of Blaiddwyn on March 18th, with chasing away the last of the winter blues by having a fun filled day of A&S classes, with tournaments in heavy and light weapons to determine the next Winter Wolf Champions. There will be a pot luck lunch, this would be a good opportunity to try that new food idea, so please bring a side dish to share. All donations will be welcome.
