News reporter Drew Sandholm of KSFY Action News in Sioux Falls, South Dakota went "inside the underground world of the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc., where people escape by dressing up and fighting Medieval-style."

"We're basically just a bunch of adults playing dress-up. It's just that our dress-up is very coordinated and historically based," Lady Francesca told reporter Dylan B. Tomlinson of the Herald Times when he visited the recent Mermaids XVI at Camp Sindawa, Wisconsin.

Woodland Romp is an outdoor camping event which officially starts Saturday. There will be feast on Saturday with a return of "rat on a stick" and an intermission. More details on feast will be provided at a later date. A tavern will be on site for lunch, donations are appreciated.

The Griffin Needle Challenge is a costuming competition, open to teams or individuals, where the goal is to create a complete outfit in just 20 hours!

Baroness Kateryn of Cornwall, from Caer Anterth Mawr in the Kingdom of Northshield, reports that Duke Sir Siegfried Von Kulmbach, inspired by Lady Elizabeth of Bright Sand, was the winner of the May 9, 2009 Crown Tourney in that Kingdom.

The the Shire of Ravenslake and the Barony of Caer Anterth Mawr welcome all who come to share in the fun! What are we planning? Berwyn has announced that he has posted an album of photos from the recent "The Peasants are Revolting" event in the Kingdom of Northshield on the Northshield Gallery website.

"Catch a Dragon by the Tale" was the theme for library night, one of the options for kids at Howe Elementary School's After School Academy Program. For another, the Wisconsin Rapids school invited members of the local SCA group to teach students about chivalry.
