As the summer heat fades rapidly and the hard memories of the Pennsic campaign grow into boastful stories, Their Newly Crowned Majesties look to take a holiday in their country lands for a leisurely time of feasting, gaming, storytelling, and celebrating the great horsemanship of the Midrealm in the first annual Royal Hunt!

On the Battlefield at Pennsic XXXIX, Their Majesties Radagaisus and Ceinwen, of the Middle Kingdom, offered Baron Silverthorn of Drachenmoor the accolade of Knighthood. Baron Silverthorn was placed on vigil earlier in the War.

Several years ago, Baron Ephraim ben Shlomo, KSCA, of the Barony of Cleftlands in the Middle Kingdom, authored an extensive article discussing the SCA Knight's Chivalric Oath of Fealty and how the oath governs the individual's behavior in the SCA.

Independence Day 2010 gave members of the Shire of Riviere Constelle a chance to display their crafting and fighting skills to the public at a demo at Wesselman Park. Dan Shaw of the Evansville (Indiana) Courier Press spoke with several members about the SCA. (photos)

The Barony of Sternfeld (Midrealm) has started an experimental podcast, the Sterncast.  The first episode features an interview with Master Johann von Metten about Animal Husbandry in the SCA and the raising of Medieval breeds of chickens.

Baroness Maerwynn of the Barony of Brendoken in the Midrealm has announced that her lord husband, Baron Einar Blakklar, will take on all comers to raise money for cancer research.

Llywelyn Glyndwr reports that he has created an album of photos from the Third Bardic Roundhouse event which took place recently in the Shire of Eastwatch, Middle Kingdom.

THL Serena Kimbalwyke (Sheri Israel) is a semi-finalist in a contest to be named web correspondent for the upcoming World Equestrian Games at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY. SCA members can help by casting a vote for her online, and the deadline is July 12.

Baroness Milesent of the Cleftlands reports that two albums of photos by photographer Allen Clark from the recent Northern Oaken War Manuevers in the Midrealm are available to view online.

Jon Szerlag of the Ionia Sentinel-Standard (Ionia, Michigan) got an up-close and personal view of the SCA when he attended the recent Baronial Border War XXVII at Bertha Brock Park. Szerlag's article and video are available online. (video)

Midrealm Kingdom Chronicler Mistress Siobhan O'Neill has created an album of photos from the recent Pentamere Regional A&S Collegium 2010.

The Middle Ages met modern life recently when members of the Shire of Blackhawk visited Lincoln-Douglas Elementary School in Freeport, IL. Students learned about the nitty gritty of medieval life such as worn shoes and chamber pots. Hilary Matheson of the Journal-Standard has the story.

Their Majesties Radagaisus and Ceinwen of the Middle Kingdom have announced the list of combatants and their consorts for the upcoming Spring 2010 Crown Tournament.

"The Middle Kingdom had come to AEthelmarc to raid their coal," writes staff reporter Veronica Nett of the Charleston Gazette, who was present at AEthelmearc's annual Blackstone Raids event. Her article features a photo album and numerous interviews of SCA folk.
