Siege Engine Tourney

description:
The call has gone out far and wide; bring all your BIG toys to see who can shoot the furthest, the most accurately and make the most destruction!

Come and take part in the Incipient Shire of Radburne’s first siege engine tourney! This is a camping event with tourney and feast!

St Sebastian's Archery Tournament

description:
Come all gentles and help us commemorate this day of St Sebastian, the patron Saint of Archers. A pleasant day is promised in the Canton of Cluain.

Events include:

  • “How to use a bow” – an opportunity for novices to learn the art of archery and get authorised to shoot in any SCA archery tournament.
  • a novelty shoot.
  • an IKAC shoot.

Two new shires are in the process of being recognized by the Society for Creative Anachronism: Bosenberg in Southwest Australia and the Shire of Radburne in Dubbo. Both groups are in incipient status.

Stormhold Surveying Expedition

description:
Let it be known that Baron Stormhold will be mounting a surveying expedition of the land in the west of his fief. To this end he seeks applications from suitably qualified individuals and companies. In particular all surveyors, engineers and cartographers are encouraged to represent themselves to his Excellency. In addition the services of a number of guards will be required due to the wild nature of the lands into which the expedition will venture. Location:

Border War IX

Border War is back again! This year is Border War IX, held from Friday 23rd - Sunday 25th February, 2007. And this year, we fight to save Our Lands from the invading Southern Army. Who will oppose us, and who will defend us?

I hear you cry, What kinds of largesse? 500 yards of the finest silk; Innocent Virgins to be Despoiled as Thou wilt; Mead, Ale and Beer; Pieces of Eight and the like will be disbursed from our coffers at Border War, if thou shouldst survive. Twilight Pas De Armes and Pot Luck Feast

description:
Come one, come all for a day off fun and frivolity in picturesque Fitzroy Gardens. Bring a plate of sumptuous food (for approximately 4-6 people) to share for the pot luck feast. Recline on a picnic blanket and wile away the hours. You are welcome to bring period games, sing songs or tell stories for your entertainment and that of the populace.

Hobby Horse Crusade

Don't forget the Hobby Horse Crusade, second Saturday of December, Ainslie, ACT (Politarchopolis). $15 members, $18 non-members, $5 kids 8-16, and if you book as a family before the end of November, one adult gets in for the kids' price.

Canterbury Faire

description:
Imagine the scene: 150 or more gentles garbed in soft wools and linens. Banners and pennons fly gently in the breeze that stirs the firs. Lochac Crown results

Jarl Alfar of Attica was victorious in the Kingdom of Lochac's November Crown Tourney held in the Barony of Ynys Fawr this weekend. He fought for Mistress Gudrun, and defeated Sir Asbjorn Pedersen (fighting for Mistress Marienna Jensdottir) 2-0 in the final. Sir Asbjorn was the only combatant to reach the finals without sustaining a defeat.

Lochac will keep its non-contact fighters with some adjustments under a new agreement reached between Society Earl Marshal (SEM) Duke Hrothgar Monomakh and Lochac Kingdom Earl Marshal (KEM) Sir Gregory of Loch Swan.

Culcairn Medieval Fayre and Medieval Feast

In Lochac, a web-based public action campaign has been launched to preserve non-contact combatant in the SCA, after a new edition of the SCA Marshal's Handbook began requiring standard heavy-combat armour for siege crews and combat archers society-wide.

Yeoman's Fete

description:
The year is 1346, and all England revels in the triumph of their Yeomen over the French at Crecy, and the Scots at Neville's Crossing. By the will of England's King Edward III, we invite one and all to gather for a celebration to honour the courage and skill of those who wield the bow in our defense.

We will have all manner of archery shoots, so that the noble archers of Lochac may display their prowess, and archery-related workshops, that they may share their knowledge. In addition, we will have a divers array of entertainments to amuse and delight the populace; a traveller's potluck lunch (please bring a dish to share) and a bountiful evening feast on the Saturday, combat scenarios for heavy, light and rapier fighters (fighters: please come prepared for a mixed combat scenario), a 'Plague Rat' quest to challenge the youthful, song, dance, games, and revelry. All are welcome to share good company and good cheer as we toast our victories. Location:

A medieval educational demo for elementary school students in Brisbane, Australia turned bloody when one of the re-enactors was slightly injured by a rapier blade.

Cairnfell's Spring Feast

The people of Cairnfell invite one and all to join us in a day of fun, food and frivolity to celebrate the return of spring.
