Ontario students learn about medieval life from SCA members

Harry Potter and "Game of Thrones" spark medieval interest

There has been a renewed interest in medieval history at the University of Ottawa. Cristina Perissinotto, director of the university's medieval studies program, believes some of the interest comes from books like the Harry Potter series and the Game of Thrones. SCA "did well” at McMaster University Clubsfest

Freshman at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, recently had the opportunity to learn about over three hundred campus organizations at Clubsfest, the annual outdoor fair. Among the groups represented were the Renaissance Dance Club and the local chapter of the SCA. Josh Dehaas of Macleans has the story.

Justinian Clarus of the Kingdom of Ealdormere, reports that his songbook, Cry of the Wolf VI, a completely prejudiced compilation of this Bard's and Their Majesties favourite songs, is available, is available online. The book is subtitled Marching to War with Trumbrand and Kaylah.

Music at St. Cecilica's

At St. Cecilia at the Tower II, an event which took place May 18, 2013 in the Barony of Cynnabar, Midrealm, the Cynnabar Singers presented a program of period music. The program also included Martin's Bane from the Kingdom of Ealdormere. Videos are available to view on YouTube.

SCA members create "Medieval Day" at Bruce County Museum
