The 25th annual Hawaiian Scottish Festival and Highland Games at Kapi'olani Park in Honolulu, Hawaii featured demonstrations by the local SCA group.

A Caidan pelican (the kind with feathers, not the kind wearing a medallion) was injured on Pacific Coast Highway in Orange County, California on Thursday as a car struck her. Though the driver was sober, wildlife officials say that the pelican was "probably intoxicated."

Scott Farrell, known in the SCA as Duke Guillaume de la Belgique, will portray King Arthur in a San Diego, California, production of the musical Camelot. The production runs July 8 through July 16, 2006.

The Barony of Dun Or is hosting spring Crown Tourney. This is a 2-day camping event at Totem Pole Ranch, 34728 Cheseboro Rd, Palmdale, CA 93552. There will be fighting for both heavies and rapier on Sunday and many more activities scheduled.
The Barony of Dun Or cordially invites you to join us for a BYOB (bring your own beef) BBQ on Saturday evening. Bring your favorite grill item, we will provide the charcoal. (We will have some food available if you forgot to bring your own but still want to eat with us).

Today's SCA meets Yesterday's SCA! The Barony of Altavia welcomes all to hearken back to when Caid was a Principality: when a tree was a pavilion, when carpet armor was legal and helmets were Freon cans; when T-tunics and jeans were major costumes and hippy clothes were the height of SCA fashion; when Caidan thrones were cloth-covered fold-up aluminum chairs!

Friedrich Ethelred aus Schloss Trier, Estrella War XXII Internal Publicity Deputy, has announced three additional special events at the War: a Progressive Weapons Rapier Tourney, sponsored by the Kingdom of Caid, a siege engine competition, sponsored by Atenveldt, and Defenders of the White Scarf Tourney, sponsored by the Southern Academy of Rapier.
