The beginning of a bright, spring day where the sun shines down on Smeewick is abruptly disturbed by the sounds of fighting. The once quiet town is being filled with the noise between two households with their fighting. The constant bickering has boiled over from mere words, to swords between the two households. Through the upcoming weeks both sides will be spreading words to their members to bolster their houses. So pay heed to the messengers that may come or to those that the may receive letters, for your household may be calling. Arm yourself to prepare for the battle ahead. Location:
Barony of Lochmere (Annapolis, Maryland)

We invite you to join us for a day in honor of St. Vitus, the patron saint of dancers.
Capriol, a young dance student, tells us that "Without knowledge of dancing, I could not please the damsels, upon whom, it seems to me, the reputation of an eligible young man depends." (Jehan Tabourot in Orchesography, 1589)
Lest you fail to please the damsels or risk your reputation, you must dust off your finery and come strut your stuff - on the dance floor or off!

Tis the drear, dull, cold Winters day. It seems Winter shall never end, Spring never arrive and yet...wait...what is that Sound? Why, tis a harp song, perhaps a lark, no...a far distant voice, raised in song. Whatever could possess someone to come out into the cold just to sing?
Listen close, my friend, tis the sound of Bright Hills bards and musicians tuning up for our annual Baronial Birthday gathering. Come, join us as we have some fun indulging in a Feast of Fools day!

And the running of the deer Well... it's a night event: there's no actual organ; and the only deer will be in the stew. But we'll have a choir if we have to kidnap gentles at random. It's all part of the diversion that will be the Barony of Storvik's Yule Revel.
We will be offering a wide variety of amusements for your delight. Besides the aforementioned kidnappings and caroling, there will be: dancing; various contests; a decidedly bardic-friendly atmosphere; and a general warmth and light to drive the dark away. Arts & Sciences Activities: A space will be made available for those wishing to display their period desserts. There will be a gaming contest, a riddling contest, and a dessert contest (both for period and non-period desserts). Musicians and performers are welcome.
