The Shire of Cote du Ciel is holding a Five Weapons Tournament at our Shire Birthday celebration on December 5th, 2009. This tournament will be open to everyone who wants to fight, but there is a special prize that will be awarded to the winning fighter with three years or less experience in armored combat.

Darius reports that he has created a large album of photos taken by himself and others from Raptor War 2009, which took place recently in the Kingdom of Artemisia.

Baron K. Braden von Sobernheim reports that two citizens of the Kingdom of Artemisia were offered Peerages by Their Majesties at the recent Feast of St. Esabell.

At the recent Fall 2009 Crown Tournament in the Kingdom of Artemisia, Their Majesties Sean and Nisa placed Countess Esabell Grant on vigil for elevation to the Order of the Pelican.

The Barony of Arn Hold, in Artemisia, held a fighter practice and demo at a public park in the Boise, Idaho area. Reporter Deanna Darr of the Boise Weekly was on hand to interview participants, and created a very nice, detailed feature article.

It was a fun trip to the past recently for kids in Logan, Utah as members of the local SCA group helped them learn about chivalry. The event was a fundraiser for the Whittier Center, where the group holds its meetings. David Felix of the Herald Journal reports.

Uprising XXIII will be held from June 17 - 21, 2009 in the glorious Barony of One Thousand Eyes. The site for the event is once again the Ancestral Youngforest lands in Firth, ID.

Once again it is time for our Shire Heavy Championship at Dragons Tear. But before any can say it is just another event, please keep in mind that this year’s event will mark Dragon Tear’s Silver Anniversary. In keeping with past tradition, our meal package will include a Friday evening soup kitchen, a wonderful breakfast with a refreshing lunch on Saturday followed by our delectable feast that will be outlined below. On Sunday morning, we will have food set out for those who want to forge for a bite before breaking camp.

The shire of Castelleone Nuovo (Helena, MT) will be hosting a regional fighter's practice at Memorial Park on Sunday, May 24, 2009. In preparation for Uprising, we will be focusing on melees, but there'll be plenty of time for one-on-one work too.

Lord Alan reports that Vilhelm Silverhammer has been elevated to the Order of the Pelican by Their Majesties of the Kingdom of Artemisia.

Her Ladyship Tamar has arranged a site for the Winter War Practice. It will be held on Saturday, January 24 at the Franklin County Fairgrounds' Riding Arena. It is located in Preston, Idaho.
