Classes will be hands on and catered to the students in attendance. Those without armor, fear not: there will be a place for hands-on help building armor, hopefully with enough time to finish before Sunday's regional fight practice. There will also be an armor garage sale, so bring the extra armor you have just lying around, slap a price tag on it and see if you can get someone else to take it home!

Come explore some of the rich history of maritime adventures, from the Vikings to the Likedeelers, the Corsairs to the Renegados. For as long as there have been boats there has been piracy.

On Sunday, November 22, 2009 the Dominion of Myrkfaelinn will be hosting an armoured combat regional muster. As always, the focus will be on melee, melee, melee.

In the spirit of Vetr Thing and Vikings in the Snow comes Vikings on the River. On November 14th the Shire of Riversedge will host a day for all Norse personas.

Byron and Ariella have created several albums of photos taken at the Siege of Harlech Castle, held in spring of 2009 in the Kingdom of AEthelmearc.

William Short, SCA member and author of the book Viking Weapons and Combat Techniques, will speak at the Fayetteville Free Library in Fayetteville, NY, on, October 29, 2009. The presentation will include a discussion of Viking fighting techniques and weapons.

The Incipient Shire of Ballachlagan invite one and all to an impromptu regional fighter practice on Sunday, November 1st. Practice will start approximately at 12:00 noon and will run until 6:00 p.m (Rain, shine, or snow). Our facility can accommodate both heavy and light fighters. Unfortunately we cannot do archery in city limits. If there is a thrown weapons marshal out there who would like to set up shop for the day, contact AElric Ravenshaw at Archais@msn.com.

The Shire of Nithgaard will host its sixth annual textile symposium on the weekend of November 20-22, at the Sieg Conference Center located on Narrows Road in Lamar, PA (no street address). Saturday the 21st will be a day of classes and workshops devoted to fabric, string, and their glorious arts. Melee and tournament combat engagements in a medieval style will be organized by Thorvaldr Frithsamr. The site opens at 2PM on Friday, and closes at noon on Sunday.

Brandubh O'Donnghaile, Silver Buccle Herald, with the assistance of THLord Pearce Redsmythe and Lady Sophie Davenport, report that Their Majesties Maynard and Liadain, King and Queen of Aethelmearc, turned Their hands to the creation of several new Peers at the recent Pennsic War XXXVIII.

Cetach Fitzgibbon of the Kingdom of AEthelmearc has posted a series of videos from the Regional Archery muster at the Castle in Wexford, Pennsylvania. The castle featured in the videos is the home of Baron Byron and Baroness Ariella.
