Sir Khalek Shurrag Od, fighting for Lady Branwyn ferch Gwythyr, was the victor in the October 6, 2007 Crown Tournament in the Kingdom of AEthelmearc. Sir Khalek bested Sir Finn O'Shannon in the final round.

The Aethelmearc Heralds & Scribes Symposium will be held on January 26, 2008, in Sterlyng Vayle (Binghamton, NY)(www.sterlyngevayle.org).

The Shire of Abhainn Ciach Ghlais is proud to sponsor an intensive symposium entirely devoted to smith work, glass, enameling, casting, forge work, bang-on-it-until-it-looks-like-it-should-look work. The Barony of Thescorre is pleased to host AEthelmearc’s Fall Crown Tournament to choose the Heirs to Duncan and Ilish on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at the Genesee Country Campground, 40 Flint Hill Road, Caledonia, NY 14423.
The campground has a large open field for the tournament, and hot showers and flush toilets available. Pavilions and awnings for shade are welcome – just be aware that the campground sits on a granite base so pounding in stakes can sometimes be difficult!

The populace of the Rhydderich Hael announces the election of a new Baron. THL Caleb Reynolds has been chosen as successor to Their Excellencies Baron William Freskyn Murray and Baroness Katherine Kiersey, and we wish to celebrate the passing of the Coronet.
The investure of our new Baron will take place on Saturday, December 15th, 2007, at the Universal Unitarian Church at 6320 Main Street, Williamsville, New York 14221. Site opens at 9:00 AM, and closes at 10:00 PM. Court begins at 10:00 AM.

The Damp Dragon Inn has moved! The Shire of Sterlynge Vayle welcomes all back to the new Damp Dragon Inn for Bards and Bows on September 8, 2007. This event will be held at Camp Amahami, Page Pond Road (no number), in Sanford NY. Gentles who attended the Spring Crown Tournament in May will remember this beautiful site. The site opens at 9:00 AM and closes when everything is clean on Saturday night. Anyone still lingering after 10:00 PM will be pressed into service for site clean up. Location:

The Shire of Nithgaard will host its fifth annual textile symposium on the weekend of November 16-18, at the Sieg Conference Center located on Narrows Road in Lamar, PA (no street address). Saturday the 17th will be a day of classes and workshops devoted to fabric, string, and their glorious arts. Melee and tournament combat engagements in a medieval style will be organized by Thorvaaldr Frirsverth. Head cook Aurora Nicola will be providing a Mongolian feast. Ahoy thare matey, set sail to the fair Shire of Port Oasis to join us for the Tavern at Kingdoms Edge III, Being held November 16th thru 18th, 2007, at the Cabell County 4-H Camp, 6040 Booten Creek Road, Huntington WV 25705. The Barony of Blackstone Mountain would like to invite one and all to our 4th Annual Wicker Man Festival. Heavy Weapons Fighting along with Fencing, Archery and Thrown Weapons will be featured along with an Arts and Sciences competition and a wonderful feast. Site opens 9 a.m. and Closes 5 p.m. This Year's theme is a "Scadian Pentathlon" with; Archery, Thrown weapons, fencing,heavy weapons, and an A&S competition. Youth contests in all areas if enough interest.There will be a sideboard buffet from 12 noon till 4 p.m. with various foods. Merchants are welcome.This is a "Scadian Pentathlon" to test everyone's prowess. You can compete in as many events as we have, or if you prefer, stick with one all day. The Canton of Steltonwald invites one and all to come and fling your arrows and other sharp pointy objects at this year's Archers to the Wald. Many of the well-known marshals of our kingdom including many Scarlet Guard members will be running various ranges throughout the day, including several roving, novelty and long distance ranges. There will even be some archery classes offered. Several of the Scarlet Guard members have also agreed to make themselves available for one-on-one coaching, tips and techniques throughout the day. Last fall, the forces of Aethelmearc met the Atlantian hordes led by the Barony of Highland Foorde on the field of battle in a grand quest to retrieve the Sylver Apple of Sylvan Glen, the talisman that bestows bounty and prosperity on our shire. Led by our mighty King Christopher, fierce Queen Morgen, and the brave Defenders of the Glen, we emerged from the fray victorious.
Having settled this property dispute, the populace of Sylvan Glen had hoped for peaceful respite from the long years of uncertainty and war. For an all too brief moment, it looked as if tat peace might be realized, but that peace was placed in grave jeopardy as reports of bandits attacking Highland Foorde’s Western Road began to trickle in. As these attacks have become more brazen and frequent, the hope for peace between Sylvan Glen and Highland Foorde has become much dimmer.

The Shire of Sterlynge Vayle invites our friends and neighbors to join us for our weekly fight practice and picnic in Otsiningo Park on Sunday, July 15, 2007. This will be a very relaxed get together for fighting, eating and socializing with our friends.
We will begin gathering around noon, and will go until people are tired of fighting. Please come join us to share stories and swordplay. If you know of anyone who is interested in checking out SCA fighting for the first time, this will be the perfect opportunity. Please bring any loaner gear that you may have for newcomers. This will be in a beautiful public park, so there will probably be people wandering over to watch the fighting and maybe ask some questions. Garb is strongly encouraged. We will provide meats to cook on the grill ? hamburgers, hot dogs, and sausages, as well as rolls, fixings, and ice. Please bring your picnic gear, a dish to pass, and drinks.
