Re-enacting Ancient Times Society member Matthew Routledge, of March, England, has played Friar Tuck before, but this time he is serious. Routledge is taking on the part of the monk to raise money for the Stroke Association. Elaine King of the Standard 24 has the story.

Brian de Moray, Free Scholar of the Academie de Espee in the Kingdom of Atlantia reports that a rapier tournament to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research will take place July 29, 2013 at Pennsic 42. Thugs for Jugs - A breast cancer rapier charity tourney - will be held on the rapier field.

Their Highnesses Amos le Pious and Ysabella Cacemoine, along with Mistress Ceridwen ferch Owain, of the Kingdom of Atlantia, have announced the Ransom the Cure initiative, a series of single tournaments at events to raise money for cancer resaearch. Their Highnesses discuss the project in a YouTube video.

Each year during war week, the Tuchux tribe gathers to sponsor a tournament to raise money for charity. This year the tournament is scheduled to take place on the Tuesday of war week immediately following the bridge battles.
