Middle Kingdom law allows same-gender baronial consorts

An amendment to Middle Kingdom law now allows Their Majesties to appoint baronial couples of same or opposite gender, or individuals, as Their Majesties deem "most fit to represent the Royal Presence in the Barony."

Shire of Bryngolau advances to full status

At Their Court at Stag's Con, Their Majesties Garick and Jasamine of the Kingdom of the Outlands accepted a petition from the Incipient Shire of Bryngolau to advance to Full Status. Being passed by the Board of Directors of the SCA, Inc., the request was granted.

SCA Board allows limited PayPal test

The Board of Directors has granted a  one-time variance to the following Society Financial Policy, Section  XII, B to allow the Barony of Gyldenholt, Caid to test the PayPal system  for accepting credit cards at the Gyldenhold - Calafia Friendship Tournament on March 9, 2013.

Proposed Corpora Change Retraction

The Board of Directors has withdrawn a proposal to prohibit a person from being both a competitor and a prospective consort in a Royal List.

Board of Directors changes Corpora IV.B.1 allowing same-gender consorts at discretion of Crown

The Board of Directors of the SCA Inc. has announced a change to the Governing Documents that allows same-gender consorts to be permitted in Royal Lists at the discretion of the Crown of each kingdom. The change is effective immediately.

Same-Gender Consort Proposal

In continuation of its investigation of the matter of same gender couples competing in Crown list, the Board is continuing its quest to solicit commentary on potential language changes to its governing documents regarding this issue.

SCA Inc. announces settlement of major lawsuit

The Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. (SCA) has been operating under the burden of a massive and difficult legal battle that has critically drained resources and caused significant ongoing difficulties for the organization. In October 2011, the board of the SCA and its legal counsel were finally able to resolve this issue, but not without significant financial costs.
