This topic covers aspects of re-creation/re-enactment, as distinct from historical life. Examples include articles about making campsites more authentic, shopping for historical-friendly supplies in the modern marketplace, music or poetry set in our "modern middle ages" rather than from the historical middle ages, and so on.

Should entrants in Royal Lists be allowed to fight for a consort of the same gender? Going to the heart of one of the most visible and celebrated institutions in the Society, this question has proved to be a matter of great moment for members of the Society's governing body, as well as for the membership at large.

On Saturday, October 15, the seven members of the Board of the Society for Creative Anachronism met in Seattle for the open session day of their quarterly meeting. While many items of business were on the agenda, the topic of highest interest for many was the issue of same-gender couple leadership in the SCA.
