SCAtoday.net experienced a brief outage (less than 30 minutes) Friday, and will be deliberately offline about 60 minutes, for a scheduled upgrade, this weekend. The upgrade is currently planned for early evening (U.S. Eastern time, GMT-4:00) on Saturday, April 13.

We have installed a new WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor module for SCAtoday.net, and the new module resolves a compatibility problem with Firefox version 15.

We have just become aware that a recent Firefox update, version 15, may be causing a problem with our web interface to contribute articles. There have been no changes to our site, and we have confirmed that the bug does not appear in Chrome or earlier Firefox versions.

Our site ran out of resources because of an overly-aggressive search spider, so we have tightened our network firewall filters to prevent this in the future. Your help is needed as we fine-tune the settings.

Pun intended -- sorry about that! Were you irritated that you had to change your SCAtoday.net settings for Daylight Savings Time? Or are you even more irritated that the times on story postings are nowhere close to correct for your timezone? If you are a registered user at SCAtoday.net, there is an easy solution.

With regret for the inconvenience, we have added an extra approval step to account creation in order to combat increasingly aggressive spam attempts. This affects only new accounts, not existing ones.

SCAtoday.net is back online after an extended outage due to a failure of our colocated server. The hosting provider expedited new hardware for us, and we worked through the night to get everything up and running. A few loose ends remain, however.

Due to a data storage problem, the SCAtoday.net server will be going offline for hardware replacement some time within the next 24 hours. Until this is completed, things are going to be very...interesting. (UPDATE STORY TO FOLLOW)

There was a network outage at SCAtoday.net's upstream hosting provider that took us offline from about 12:20 EST to 15:50 EST (GMT-5:00). We are back online now, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
