It is with the very greatest sadness that we note the unexpected passing of David of Moffat. He died on Sunday, December 21, 2008 of complications of diabetes at the much-too-tender age of 45, and by his long-known request there will be no memorial service.

The Known World Heraldic and Scribal Symposium 2007 will be held in the Barony of Lyondemere, Kingdom of Caid, in the Crowne Plaza Hotel a few blocks from LAX airport. There was so much to do, we couldn't cram it all into one weekend. The dates are Thursday, June 14 through Sunday, June 17, 2007. The event cost is $30 per person until April 1, $35 April 2 through May 15, and $40 May 16 thereafter and at the door. The additional fee for the banquet is $25 until May 15, $30 thereafter (vegetarian selection available, let us know when you send in your reservation). Hirsch reports that Minutes from the Proceedings of the College of Heralds/Arms meeting of February, AS IV (1970) have recently surfaced in the West Kingdom. He believes that the minutes are from the second heralds' meeting of the SCA.
