Baron Bjorn Hrafnsson, Artemisia Kingdom Archer General, reports that the SCA will sponsor a series of archery shoots open to all archers of the Known World.

Bardic works available on YouTube

Shava from Northshield has added 90 more video recordings of SCA bardic performances to her extensive YouTube channel, which now has over 500 videos. The performances include works from multiple kingdoms and many venues.

Donations needed for SCA fundraiser at Pennsic

Mistress Carolyne de LaPointe and Master Julien de LaPointe have announced that the Kingdom of the East will hold a "fundraising auction to benefit the Society at large" at the upcoming Pennsic War. Donations are needed.

H&R Block offers donation program to SCA for new customers

Thomas W. Hughes, President of the SCA Inc., has announced that H & R Block, a major income tax preparation firm in the U.S., has agreed to make a donation to the SCA Inc. for each new customer who has the company prepare their tax return this year.

New web magazine for SCA poetry and fiction

In conjunction with the Barony of Caer Anterth Mawr's last annual winter event, Boar's Head, Dame Merouda Pendray ran an A&S contest that included a competition for written works. The judging is completed, the webzine online, and the winners announced.

Comments sought as SCA Inc. proposes creation of Recruitment and Retention Officer

The Board of Directors proposes the following changes to Corpora to establish the position of Recruitment and Retention Officer (formally known variously as Chatelaine, Hospitaller, and Gold Key Officers) as a Society Level Office with associated Great Officer positions at the kingdom level.  The deadline for comments from the membership regarding this subject is no later than August 1, 2012.

Resources for Youth Activities

This web site is a resourcs for ideas when running youth activities. Included are class handouts, SCA/Medieval themed coloring books, and links to web articles and otehr helpful resources.  There is also a SCA coloring/activity book that teaches children about peerages in the SCA.

Society Exchequer resigns

Maistresse Alysia Gabrielle de Fougeres (mka Mazelle Attiya), the Society for Creative Anachronism's Corporate Treasurer, has announced that the Exchequer has resigned from office and will be replaced temporarily by his Emergency Deputy.

In October 2011, the board of the SCA and its legal counsel were finally able to resolve this issue, but not without significant financial costs.
