The SCA Subtleties list is nearing its 2 year anniversary and now has over 200 members. If you're interested in researching and creating subtleties and illusion foods, but don't know where to start, this is a good introduction.

This list is a forum for (but not restricted to) SCA members dedicated to the research and recreation of subtleties (also refferred to as sotelties, soltelties, etc.), entremets and illusion foods within SCA timeframe. We study documented recipes and examples of this food art from the Roman, Medieval and Renaissance sources as well as sharing our attempts at recreating our own versions. This is an exiting element of period cooking that is all too often overlooked.

The SCA Board of Director's meeting will be held Saturday, 15 July 2006, in Indianapolis, Indiana. The meeting starts at 9 am. And as this is a business meeting and not an actual event, garb is not necessary.

Viscountess Gwyneth Felton, modernly known as Linda Moore, found herself in an unusual but pleasant position last weekend, as her friend, Siegfried von Kulmbach, who had asked her leave to fight for her in Northshield Crown Tournament, won the tournament and the right to name her Princess. As a result, Ms. Moore needed to resign from the SCA President's office to assume Her new station as Princess.
