On behalf of meself an' me crew from the Shire of Owl's Nest, I be invitin' ye seaworthy populace to set sail with us Pirates of the Mediterranean. We be weighin' anchor from familiar waters sheltered by the forests of Pickett's Mill in Dallas, GA at the time of the third bell of the forenoon watch on the 21st day of June, bein' a Saturday. Join us for a resurrection of Valhalla Day on the Greenwith some of the old games and some new ones! Fighting: ship to ship team list, holmgang, axe and shield list, spear list.
Games: bear pit wrestling, spear throwing, tug-of-war, ship races, oar dancing.
Arts: Viking haiku, riddles, storytelling, period style clothing contest, Hollywood style clothing contest.

The great Baroness of Caerthe, Mary of Blackthorn has spent this long, cold winter dreaming of the great fighters of her realm. She sent a missive to the beautiful Baroness of Dragonsspine, Lydia of the Pines, to challenge her to a chess match at the first thaw. At the behest of their Excellencies, fighters will meet on the chessboard of battle to support their most excellent Baronesses. O hearken, most glorious Kingdom of the Outlands! The sweet siren call of Spring is upon us, and the Barony of Caer Galen requires the assistance of the Kingdom's budding lords and ladies to come to her aid in locating again the fabled Unicorn Horn. It has come to the attention of the Horn's current guardian that this marvelous and magical device has been whisked away to an otherworldly and fey castle in the sky. We need children of all ages to come and fetch it back for us. The stoutest of heart and mien will be granted the noble task of guarding our Horn for the coming year. Location:

Yes it’s that time of year again! The Barony March of Mons Tonitrus is hosting its annual Barmaids event at the Lower Garden Canyon site on Ft. Huachuca. Trees, shade, babbling brooks (maybe) and competitions with prizes are available for all!
Saturday morning will see Opening Court at 9:00 followed by armor inspection. Prizes will be contested in both Armored and Rapier scenarios "in the tavern" as well as weird weapons (Rapier and Armored) and of course The Barmaid competition! Following the conclusion of the tavern tourneys we will begin the "Boar Hunt" in the forest for those armored fighters who just can’t get enough stick time. Saturday late afternoon will also see a Siege Engine accuracy demonstration. Come fire a bolt high into the sky for a small donation to the American Cancer Society.

The Sports Council in England has agreed that Stoolball, a medieval game mostly localized to southeastern England, meets its criteria to be recognized as a sport. Approximately 4,000 people in the vicinity of Kent, Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire play Stoolball.

Come ye of keen eye and strong arm! The Barony of Skraeling Althing is in search of its next Baronial Archery Champion. Join us for a day of skill and amusement. For those not of archer stock, why not come to the country and enjoy a day in the fresh air to celebrate the melting of the ice and snow. Watch the archers on the archery range. The first of May marks the anniversary of the SCA, it is the beginning of a new year of the Society. This Year the Shire of Granite Mountain will be starting a new beginning as well with a brand "NEW" May event. The populace of the Shire welcomes one and all to join us in the cool mountains of Prescott Arizona for the "Champions in the Pines" event, a weekend of tournaments, feasting, and friendship. We will gather to celebrate the many talents we have here in the Shire as well as the glorious Kingdom of Atenveldt in the spirit of competition. Location:

For many in the SCA and other Middle Ages living history organizations, the first introduction to acting the part of someone from a medieval culture was a game of Dungeons and Dragons (D&D). Gary Gygax, one of the co-creators of D&D more than 30 years ago, died today after several years of declining health.

Come help the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands celebrate the festival of Carnivale in the high Venetian style. The day will feature quests, games, music, merriment and dance culminating in a grand masked ball in the evening.
All this for our guest of honor Signora Tomasia da Collivento as she sits vigil to contemplate elevation to the most noble Order of the Laurel. This revelry will be held at the Lodge at North Park of Allegheny County, (no street #) North Ridge Rd, Allison Park, PA 15101. The site will open at 9 am and close at 10 pm.

Alex Salmond, Scotland's First Minister, has expressed a grievance over the continued absence of the Lewis Chessmen from Scotland. The chessmen, ivory pieces carved sometime during the 11th century, are housed in various museums in England.
