It is a time of strength and peace in the Barony of Raven's Fort. Though chorded remnants of once happy dwellings dot her out lying lands, there has been no sighting of the Viking raiders for almost a year and harvest is well under way. No doubt, this time of healing is the fruit of the Kingdom's great victory over the barbarians, stopping last year's assaults.
The scribes thus recorded, The northmen sail'd in their nailed ships, a dreary remnant, on the roaring sea; over deep water. Dublin they sought, and Ireland's shores, in great disgrace. They left behind them raw to devour, the sallow kite, the swarthy raven with horny nib, and the hoarse vulture, with the to consume his prey; the greedy gos-hawk, and that gray beast the wolf. No slaughter yet was greater made e'er in this island?? Even the dour mission bells toll somehow lighter in a new hope for tomorrow.

The year was Anno Societatis 18. His most noble and Gracious Majesty, King Olaf Askoldsson was traveling the southern reaches of his Kingdom, and came upon a Mountain, Hidden at the southern tip of Atlantia. King Olaf found the people there to be good, strong, and wise. He and his beautiful Queen Aislinn Schattenwald saw fit to charter a Barony in these southern lands, and was inspired to named it for the mountain he had found. He ordered the populace to choose leaders for their new Barony, and with His Blessing, Eldon Ungol of the Phoenix and Marie-Simone de Barjavel la Fildena became the first Baron and Baroness of these new lands. Then, as the night fell, the Mountain became Hidden once more, only to reappear once a year, to celebrate her recognition and the work by these fine people, and all who have followed.

Perhaps football is not as modern of a game as we believed. References to versions of the game have been found as early as the 10th century in Welsh literature and in the Black Book of Carmarthen, the first manuscript written in Welsh, in the 13th.

Do you remember the good old days of Turmstadt's golden harvests, when you were sent through thickets and underbrush to match your wits with mud puddles and manic marshals? These days are back...with a vengeance!
Turmstadt proudly announces the R³ - Rothenburg Riddle Rampage. We have regrouped and relocated to a campground right next to the beautiful medieval town of "Rothenburg ob der Tauber" in northwestern Bavaria , one of the biggest tourist attractions for the historically inclined (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rothenburg_ob_der_Tauber) . From there, we will hand you a haversack with provisions for the day and send you on a scavenger hunt to complete various cunning puzzles and obscure tasks to win the ultimate prize - namely, to decide what is supposed to happen to Nebelwald's precious banner, which is currently in Turmstadt's possession!
