What do you get when you mix the SCA, Renaissance Faires and Live Action Roleplaying -- and set it at summer camp? You get the Hidden Kingdom, an Arizona resort experience that drops a group of "adventurers" into the medieval town of Darkhold where they "meet monsters, see (and do) magic spells and find buried treasure."

Cudgel War is back again! Still not as bloody as the historical original, but surely as rich in events also this time! The honourable Canton of Humalasalo offers you once more a wonderful opportunity to participate in an Aarnimetsän tent camp. During this 10 day event you have a lot of activities to choose from: there are heavy fighting tourneys (Nordic 1000) and three days of war, fencing, archery, arts and sciences lectures and competitions, dancing, games... And, of course, you get to enjoy the Finnish summer, sauna and socializing around the fire!

You've heard all the warnings from your mother: "Don't hit your brothers with a stick!" "Stop swinging that sword around in the house." Well, now you can! Nerf has created the N-Force sword: sturdy enough to be fun, but harmless enough to not do any real damage. ARS Technica has a review.

Remember the fun of the 3-legged race at summer camp? Well, maybe it wasn't all that fun, but it is fun when the contestants are in armor, as can be seen in a video from the Gyldenholt/Califia friendship tourney on March 14th, 2009.

The Twa Corbies Tavern is an SCA event that recreates a little (alas, we are not Le Poulet Gauche) of the flavour and feel of a period tavern. Food and drink will be available for sale instead of served as a dayboard or feast. Performers will attempt to entertain you in return for your applause and, if you're generous, some additional token of appreciation. There will be both a common room for the general populace and for entertainment, and a room for more dedicated and quiet activity.

Leave behind the cold winter of the Outlands and for one evening come to the sunny climate of Spain to celebrate with the Barony of Caerthe the Twelfth Night tradition.
At the end of the 15th century, Spain sat on the brink of her most wondrous chapter in history, the Siglo de Oro, or Golden Age. The year 1492 was perhaps the most decisive in the history of Spain. King Ferdinand of Aragon and Queen Isabella of Castile had realized their goal of reuniting Spain with their triumphant entry into Granada. Of course, this was also the year that Christopher Columbus, sailing under a Spanish flag, left for the Americas.
