SCA folk march in 2009 Fayetteville Rotary Christmas Parade

At 11:00 a.m., 12 December 2009, Members of the Canton of Attillium and the Barony of Windmaster's Hill participated in the 2009 Christmas Rotary Parade. This year two horses complete with armored riders, barding, lance and shield were introduced.

All are welcome to a day of classes for both heralds and scribes, including some crossover material, like how to read the tricky hand that you're sure was done by a drunken weasel that the award scroll is in, and what exactly does "a fish counter-urinant, rayonny-fitchy pean" mean. Oldest extant Medieval Roll of Arms bought by British Library

Hrolf Jamesonreports that the British Library has acquired the the Dering Roll, the "oldest extant Medieval Roll of Arms." The document was purchased for UK£194,184.

Royal Mint introduces heraldic coin designs

A new series of British coins will feature the heraldry of the monarch. Each coin in the six-coin set will feature an aspect of the coat of arms with the £1 piece depicting the complete shield.
