Drivers traveling through western Pennsylvania this summer may find themselves asked to complete surveys regarding their travel plans, according to Mark Celko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. The surveys will be conducted at 25 checkpoints throughout a ten county area.

Lord Stephan Calvert deGrey reports that SCA members in the Barony of Endless Hills (Scranton-Wilkes-Barre, PA) and the Shires of Sterlynge Vayle (Binghamton, NY) and Coppertree (Utica, NY) in Æthelmearc were hard hit by recent torrential rains and flooding. One SCA member, THL Keran Roslin, makes note of how her SCA equipment and skills helped prepare for disaster.

From a report from the Owners, AJ & Andrew, it appears that the Inner Vagabond, a migratory middle-eastern styled coffee house, jewelry and household goods shop, was destroyed by fire on Mother's Day. There was no loss of life, only personal goods.

Online pre-registration for individuals for Pennsic XXXV has been extended until June 15, 2006. Mail-in pre-registration ends May 15, 2006. There has also been an increase in fees due upon arrival.
