In an effort to save paper and expedite arrivals, Pennsic 41 will feature the event's first-ever electronic check-in, or "eTroll." Fred Brezel, who has managed the Pennsic preregistration process for years, announced the change Friday, and he says it has been under development for two years.

Throughout time immemorial, Pennsic-goers have contended with the traffic pileups at a one-lane bridge on Currie Road leading to the event site. That bridge is, finally, being replaced in the spring of 2012.

Scribes looking for heraldic images for scrolls, or heralds wishing to help newcomers choose charges, may wish to check out the Pennsic Traceable Art Project created by Ailis Linne.

Ursus of Anglesey has posted another gallery of Pennsic pictures from Thursday, which includes the bridge battles (shot from a tower in the fort) and the Allied Champions battle.

It is a tradition for SCA royalty to gift other kingdom royals with a basket of items made by members from Their Kingdom. In 2011, Drachenwald's gift basket to Ealdormere was particularly splendid. Annika Madejska shares photos of items included in the basket on PicasaWeb.

Ursus of Anglesey has posted a new on-line gallery covering Wednesday at Pennsic, including the Mooselodge Tourney, Children's fête, Battle of Hastings, and a lot of sparring. The new gallery joins others previously posted in the Pennsic XL set.

While some in the Shire of Hadrian's Keep (modernly found in Maine, USA) prepared for Pennsic, others took the fight closer to home. The newspaper Republican Journal discusses Orchard Wars III and SCA life on and off the battlefield.

Eirik Anderson reports that he has posted a number of photo albums from Pennsic 2007 on his website. There are over 1900 photos in the 9 albums.

Pilot Challenge, a magazine aimed at truckers and other professional drivers, has just published an article introducing their customers to the SCA and Pennsic. The magazine is from the company owning the Pilot gas station and convenience store located near the site of Pennsic War.
