The vicar of Collingbourne Ducis in Wiltshire has enforced the ancient law, never taken off the books, that allows her to summon the village to archery practice. Those complying with the call to service were rewarded with food and drink.

The discovery of “bows and parts of bows, arrows and arrow fragments and an array of arrowheads” in an Irish bog dating to the Anglo-Norman invasion of Ireland may give insight into the types of equipment used by the Normans.

The Brawl at the Crooked Dragon XIII will be held on July 10, 2010 at the Lorain County Fairgrounds in Wellington, Ohio. As in years past the day will be filled with fighting, fun, and feasting! It is one of the last opportunities to authorize before Pennsic War.

Come one and all to the fair Barony of Glymm Mere to witness competitions in Archery, Rapier and Heavy Fighting! We will have prize tournaments in each field on Saturday. On Sunday, the best of each will compete for glory and position in the Baronial Court as Champions.

Bystanders came face to face with the Middle Ages recently at Machado Elementary School in Lake Elsinore, California. Justin and Ashley Katz of San Jose decided to give the activities a try. "I've never used a bow before, but it's just something I've always wanted to do," Justin said. "It seems fun and the people are extremely nice. I think I'll be back." As War Practice Looms Near, let it be known to the Kingdom of Atenveldt that the privilege of carrying the Memorial Gauntlet for the year is once again at hand. Northern Regional Fighter practice will be Sunday January 24th from 11:00 to 4:00pm at Camp DaKaNi in Wiesenfeuer. We would also like to invite the Rapier, Combat Archery, and general populace as well.
