The Shire of Sterlynge Vayle is pleased to announce that Bards and Bows, Now with Brewing!! sponsored by the Damp Dragon Inn, on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at our traditional site, Camp Sertoma, Johnson Road (no number), in Windsor, NY. The site opens at 9:00 AM and closes when everything is clean on Saturday night. Anyone still lingering after 9:00 PM will be pressed into service for site clean up.

Here is the much anticipated information on the upcoming Archery Workshop, to be held in the Shire of SilverKeep on April 27th and 28th.  HE Ryryd ap Gwerstan has planned this archery workshop and its curriculum; we are very fortunate that he, with the help of his protege, Lady Aingeal, are coming North to give us this opportunity to learn.

The Canton of Hawks Haven summons and invites all archers and crossbowmen to our annual Medieval Archery Tournament! Test your skills against the best archers of the West Kingdom. Honor, infamy and prizes await those who are the top shot. Those who wish to vie for that coveted honor of “The Hood” of Darkwood may also compete.

There will be a Region 5 Archery Shoot on January 6, 2013. We will begin shooting at 12:00 and continue until 3:00 PM or until everyone has had their fill of fun. The shooting will be at Delftwood's regular archery site.

Scientists from the University of Swansea have concluded that among those lost with the sinking of the Mary Rose, King Henry VIII's flagship, in 1545, were elite longbowmen. The conclusion was made after the study of over 100 skeletons found on the remains of the ship.
