The Barony of Blackstone Mountain would like to invite one and all to our 4th Annual Wicker Man Festival. Heavy Weapons Fighting along with Fencing, Archery and Thrown Weapons will be featured along with an Arts and Sciences competition and a wonderful feast. After dark we will burn the Wicker Man and have a Bardic Circle. Merchants are encouraged to attend and you will not be charged any fees besides the usual event fees.
The event site is the easy to find Jackson County Jr. Fair Grounds ( Mailing address, Rt. 2 Box 280, Cottageville, WV 25239, there is no street address) The event starts at 10:00 am and ends at 10:30 pm on November 3, 2007. As usual everyone remaining on site after it closes will be pressed into the cleaning gang. This site is bone dry and there are no open flames allowed in the buildings. There are no pets allowed and all service animals must remain in their owners control at all times. The site is handicapped accessible. Please contact one of the autocrats if you have concerns.
There will be a sideboard during the day that is included in the event fee and a feast for up to 50 gentles cooked by Lady Rois Inghean Vi Dhubhshlaine email@example.com
The fees for the event are Adults (18 and up) $6.00. Children (5-12) $3.00. Feast is $5.00 for everyone over 5 years old. There is a family cap of $50.00 for the event. Please be aware that as per corporation policy, a $3.00 non-member surcharge will to added on top of all other fees for those gentles age 18 and over who are not members of the SCA. This may be sent with your reservation or paid at the door. Please make reservation checks and money orders out to, SCA Inc.-Barony of Blackstone Mountain, and send to Baroness Gwyneth at the address above. We request that you include all modern names in the reservations. The cut off for mailing your reservation is October 26, 2007. Merchants please contact one of the autocrats to reserve a space.
If coming from the North take I-77 South to exit 138, turn right on to Highway 62 West and go 7 miles to County Farm Road which is the entrance to the fair grounds.
If coming from the South take I-77 North to exit 138, turn left on to
Highway 62 West and go 7 miles County Farm Road which is the entrance.
