Medieval times in Madison

Medieval life is alive and well at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the form of the local chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism and the Belegarth Medieval Combat Society. Maisie Ramsay of the Capitol Times reports.

From the article:

"I tell people we're a medieval village inside of Madison," says Ed "Giles" Gilbert, armor maker and longtime member of the Madison chapter of SCA. Ears stuffed with cotton to mute the clang of hammers pounding steel, Gilbert dispenses bits of historical trivia and instructs the night's attendees on the finer points of armor-making in the east side workshop he shares with other armor enthusiasts.
