Submitted by Milica on Mon, 2003-07-07 02:40
A bronze cup, dating from the time of the construction of Stonehenge, has been
acquired by the British Museum and will soon be on display.
A beautiful bronze cup provides evidence of the entensive trading networks
throughout Europe during the Bronze Age. Dating from 1700 to 1550 B.C.E., the
cup was discovered in Kent in 2001 at a previously undiscovered burial site.
The badly damaged aritfact has been through extensive reconstruction and will
now be displayed in the Round Reading Room of the British Museum.
