Three Stags II; Autumn Battle and Faire.

The Barony of Caerthe invites one and all to this exciting event that will transport you to a medieval town fair, and challenge you to battles grand till you can fight no more.

August 31st through September 3rd (Labor Day weekend) 2007

Site: Casey Jones Park, Elizabeth Colorado 4189 Highway 86, Elizabeth CO 80107

From Friday the 1st 12:00 noon to Monday the 4th to 12:00 noon, everybody off site by 4:00pm. If you want to make arrangements with the park to arrive earlier or stay later please contact Elizabeth Parks and Recreation at epr@sbbco.net.

Directions to the site:
From I-25 north or south, got to Founders Parkway exit (north of Castlerock) east on Highway 86, through Franktown to Elizabeth. Through Elizabeth, The Park is on the north side of Highway 86, Casey Jones Park, look for the sign.

From the south you can also take Highway 83 (also know as Parker Road) from Colo. Springs to Highway 86 at Franktown, turn east to Elizabeth.

From Denver, take I-225 to Parker Road exit south (highway 83), to Franktown, then east on Highway 86 to Elizabeth.

From further North, take I-25 (south) to I-70 (east) to I-225 (south) to Parker Road Exit South (highway 83). To Franktown, east on Highway 86 to Elizabeth. (You could also take E-470 south from I-25 to Parker Road south. E-470 is a toll road)

Some of the Planned events are: (All Schedules are subject to change)

  • There will be a Bardic Competition to honor His Excellency Patric at 3Stags II this coming fall. The Champion will be proclaimed to all as the "Blakthorn Bard of Caerthe". This will be an honorary position in the court of Caerthe and a new champion will be decided upon each year. For all of those who wish to participate I will have a sign up sheet at troll and the competition will take place after the feast on Saturday. Bring out your best songs, stories, poems, etc. Let us do our Baroness proud.
  • The Caerthen Warlord Tourneys!!
  • Warlord Archery
  • A large List of Tourneys and Battles;
  • Archery Shoots
  • Fencing till you drop; (no schedule yet)
  • Pageantry, Pageantry, Pageantry!!
  • Children’s Activities
    Tryfin will be back with his youth interactive encounter. We need volunteers to help the MOC out during the daytimes. Please remember she is not a babysitter, consider volunteering a couple of hours to help out.
  • A&S classes as part of the Faire ambiance;
    We will build the town square next to the onsite Pavilion building this year so the Fair A&S classes and the Artisans Row can be closer to the main events. Class ideas will be welcome, if you would like to teach one let me know. We are looking for people to show, Cheese making, Hats/headwear, Pottery, Candlemaking, Tailoring/clothing, Basketmaking and any other art you would like to showcase.
  • The Artisans Row will again be available to show off the talented artists of this Kingdom You can set up a workshop for the whole weekend, instead of just an hour or two, and those interested can stop and participate and learn the crafts demonstrated. Willing Artisans needed!
  • Master Rhys may be returning, as well as the Caerthen woodworkers, leatherworkers and Calligraphy Guilds. The Caer Galen Fiber Guild plans on being there with hands on spinning, carding, weaving and a variety of hands on techniques for wool fibers.
    These are just a few of the wonderful Artisans who will be there.

Do you have an interest in Baking? We plan on having several clay ovens going the whole event and experimenting with them. Imagine, Fresh bread everyday!!!

Shine up your helms, make your banners, and get your heraldic garb together! There will be several contests for the best heraldry display, for individuals and households, and for the best display of Kingdom, Baronial, Shire, Canton , or etc….. Colors and devices. Make something to show your pride in your Kingdom! Make your campsite a showpiece, another contest is how much pageantry does your camp display; show off your household or personal colors.

If you have an Inn that you have run in the past and would like to set it up here please contact me, I am planning to coordinate and locate all the Inns into one area of the “Town”. Are you a Merchant? Want to be part of this? Contact the autocrats or see web site for further info.

Pets must be on a leash at all times and picked up after. This is a heavily wooded area so check often on Fire restrictions, they will be updated on the web site as the summer progresses, all fires must be off the ground in containers, a fire extinguisher near by and someone from the camp present at all times when the fire is lit. Any unattended fires will be put out and the container confiscated by the Autocrats till the end of the event. (Groveling and bribes may affect getting them back, at the whim of the Autocrats) Bring your wood, no gleaning of the wood on site. Torches may be allowed at the whim of the fire restrictions. Alcohol in period containers only, no glass bottles and the age limit will be enforced. Since we are right next to the town of Elizabeth and have neighbors on both sides of the park, a noise curfew will be set for 12:00am (midnight). It may be later on Saturday depending on the park ranger, I will check with him.

If you are bringing along a minor for whom you're not the said minor's legal guardian or parent please, bring with you (or send with your minor, if he is going with someone else), a notarized Medical Authorization which can be found at http://sca.org/docs/treatminor-notary.pdf

Above is not all-inclusive list of documents needed; it is just a reminder for the Medical Authorization. Please, make sure any other documents or waivers required by SCA inc and/or Outlands event policies are also provided for any attending minors.
