9th century Mickey Mouse found

1000 years before Walt Disney thought up a cute little mouse in buttoned pants and gloves, an Iron Age artisan created a bronze brooch in the likeness of Mickey. (photo)

Swedish archaeologists working at UppÄkra in southern Sweden have found a woman's bronze brooch with the figure of what was probably a lion's head, but looks amazingly like Disney's Mickey Mouse. "The find is from around 900 AD. It was probably a lion's head that originally came from France. It was however more than likely designed by somebody who had never actually seen a lion," said Jerry Rosengren from Lund University.
