Age of Armor Demo

description:
The Shire of An Dun Theine is partnering with the Huntsville Museum of Art to do a family fun demonstration at the Museum on June 16th, Saturday 1:00 - 4:00. We want to invite all local SCA groups to come out and help kick off the exhibit with grand pageantry and style.

We will begin set up on the lawn of the museum beginning 10:00, but the actual fighting, dancing, and art demonstrations will not begin until 1:00. If you have something specific you would like to demonstrate, armor that you wouldn't mind bringing out for the public to see and touch, or have some suggestions please contact Christine Robinson at cerobinson@mchsi.com. Our shire is committed to demonstrating dance, heavy fighting, rapier fighting and many arts displays. The museum will be hosting several free crafts for the kids (and adults who would like to try) and the Huntsville library will bring story time on the lawn for the children, so bring the whole family and tell your friends. The dancing will be inside the Great hall and all are welcome to cool off in the air conditioning. I am including the list of armor that will be on display inside the gallery and a link to their website http://www.hsvmuseum.org/.

The demo will be open and free to all who want to attend. The gallery itself charges for the exhibit, though. The museum site states that exhibit does not open until Sunday, But it WILL be open on Saturday as a special preview just for our demo. The museum is located next to (rather inside) Big Spring Park in downtown Huntsville. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=Huntsville+Museum+of+Art&ie=UTF8...

There are several little cafes and restaurants located in and around the park. Come enjoy an afternoon of fun with the Shire of An Dun Theine! Plus there is ample shaded picnic areas in the park. I will have ice water available, so bring your mugs.

In service,
