Chivalry rules at Indiana middle school

A day of dueling knights in armor, medieval dancing and games was in store recently as members of the Shire of Greyhope visited Hebron (Indiana) Middle School. James D. Wolf of the Post-Tribune had the story.

The SCA members were invited by Social Studies teacher Paula Davis, who believes that kids often will learn more from hands-on demos than from books or television. "Being so involved in something, as compared to hearing or reading about it, makes a difference in how much students learn and are interested," the sixth-grade teacher said. "Because they watch so much television, it's not real until they hold it."
