Song Could be Clue to Lost Shakespeare Play

London Times: A fragment from a poem or song may give Shakespeare scholars a clue to a lost
play.
British broadcaster Michael Wood believes that he has found a clue to the
missing Shakespeare play "Cardenio." The song "Woods Rocks and Mountains" may
have been written for the play which was performed by Shakespeare's company in
1613. "Cardenio" was mentioned by 18th century playwright Lewis Theobald as the
basis of his play "Double Falshood." Wood's theory and a recreation of the song
will be broadcast June 28, 2003 on BBC Two on the "In Search of Shakespeare"
program. Experts are skepticle of the claim.
