The remains are thought to have been from a West Germanic tribe member who was part of a group that occupied the area between the Romans and the Slavs. Archaeologists from the Vinkovci City Museum plan to continue excavations at the site.

Roman remains and artifacts were discovered recently in Vinkovci during excavations to construct a new sports hall including a fibula, a Roman ornamental clip, dating to the 4th century C.E.
