The incipient Shire of Drakenmere sends forth an invitation to all in our fair Kingdom and our neighboring Kingdoms as well. Please join us for a mid-summer collegium and harvest festival, where far more knowledge will be gained than book-learning and far more will be eaten than the first loaf of the harvest…
We will gather to teach, learn, and feast in Statesboro, Georgia on August 18 for Summer Collegium IV – a Lammas-tide Celebration.
We especially invite potential teachers familiar with the history and daily life of the high Middle Ages. Help us educate the populace about medieval England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland after the Norman invasion (more or less). From life in a Norman castle to how fairy- tale princess hats were really made to the true story of the Crusades, come share your knowledge!
Hands-on instructors would be most welcome in such topics as chain- link armor, heraldry, baking, garb making, mummery, dance, games, and – well, you tell us! No brewing or clay-throwing, please, as our classes will be held in a recreation department building. Topics on weaponry and practical skills for fighters will also be considered.
If you are interested in teaching a class, please contact Lady Cibella Monmouth [cibella.monmouth@yahoo.com]
