The drums of War can be heard coming from the mountains as a gentle wind blows across the valley of Windale! OK so there will be drums and lots of wind of course, but not war, like some might think. We will have many of the war-like games you have all grown to love. Hobby horse jousting, crazy hard suit tourney, scavenger hunting and of course tossing of some poor object. There will be a silent auction with many of our local artisans showing their talents.
This will be a day event this year and we will be having it at the beautiful Metcalf Park in downtown Windale/Kingman. Metcalf has lots of grass and trees for shade and blocking that darn wind. There is a wonderful fenced in playground for the small ones, lots of parking, stone privies, pets allowed on leashes, and it is a wet site. Bring a picnic lunch or step out to one of several close by fast food restaurants. We will have a light finger food table at lunch time. As night closes in, we will leave the park and head a short distance to Sir Dougal and THL Aimee's for a potluck dinner and night of drumming, dancing and merriment.
There are several motels close by and many members have offered up crash space for those wanting to stay the night. So come join us crazy mountain folk for some down right silliness and lots of fun.
Site Fee: 5.00 for members with proof of membership, 8.00 for non-members, 17 and under free (must be accompanied by paying adult).
Site opens: at 9am and closes at 6pm at the Park, then straight to 520 S. 4th Ave for dinner at aprox 6:30pm till midnight.
