East Kingdom Southern Region Spring War Practice

description:
Shake off the doldrums of the winter past as once again, the Armies of the East rally to prepare for War! Come, all soldiers, to the fields of Owlsherst to hone our armies' battle skills. Additional combat activities include a torchlit Tourney on Friday evening, and a cash prize tourney on Sunday morning. Fencing and archery activities are also planned for both Saturday and Sunday.

It is our honor to be graced by the presence of Their Royal Majesties, Gryffith FitzWilliam and Aikaterine Lukanina FitzWilliam!

The event will also feature Children's activities, merchants, and A&S activities including a Bardic Circle on Saturday evening. As always, the food will be prepared by the incomparable Owlsherst Cooks Guild. There will be a Saturday dayboard at noon, and an evening feast featuring cuisine of Germany, Poland, and Eastern Europe. Sunday morning there will be a hearty breakfast. Inquiries about the food in regard to allergies or special diet requirements should be addressed to the autocrat as soon as possible. Ingredient lists will be posted at the event.

Additional information about activities and schedules will be made available at the shire's website at .

Merchants: There is outdoor space available; bring your own shelter. There is no Merchant fee but there is an agreement. Contact the Autocrat if you have questions or to register.

Volunteers this year we will again have a Volunteer Reward Auction. For each hour a person volunteers at the event, they will receive a ticket which they may use in the raffle to win wonderful prizes. Please contact the autocrat to volunteer, register for specific jobs, or to donate a prize.

Site closes at 2pm on Sunday. Volunteers for cleanup are welcome to stay later! This site is Damp, beer and wine in moderation are allowed in period containers. Please take empties with you when you leave; PA Liquor Laws apply. Pets are NOT allowed. The site is RUSTIC and not particularly handicapped accessible. Anyone with concerns regarding accessibility should contact the autocrat.

NOTE that GATE (troll) will be in the Main Hall on Friday evening and out on the Field near Parking on Saturday. Have your proof of membership in hand when you arrive (membership card, on-line receipt or kingdom newsletter that includes your name, membership number and expiration date.)

There are HOT showers available in the lodge and in the pool house just off the field. Housing options include the heated Lodge space for 35 and Group Screenhouses with electricity for 100+ (beds may not be available in all houses, please plan accordingly). There is, of course, space for camping galore. With regrets, this site cannot accommodate RVs.

When sending your event pre-registration, be sure to include housing preferences and your contact information so that you can be reached in the event of an issue with your reservation.
