According to a representative of the seller, the bones were salvaged from a box in the St Petersburg Atheism Museum which was created during the Soviet era. He hopes that the sale will bring 1,000 euros.

The skull and bone purported to be holy relics of Saint Philipp are for sale by a private owner on a Russian website. The Russian Orthodox Church has called the sale "blasphemous."
