Lochac Kubb Championship

description:
The Shire of Bosenberg (located in the South West of Western Australia) is hosting the inaugural Lochac Kubb Championship on Saturday the 17th of March. It is our hope that this will become a much loved Lochac tradition.

Kubb is a Viking throwing Game which consists of trying to hit your opponent’s wooden blocks with a wooden baton. It is a lot of fun and even beginners will have a chance to shine on the day.

The Barony of Aneala’s wonderful Catalina De Gata has done some research on it (available at http://www.aneala.sca.org.au/arts/CGGames4.html) and another good site about the game itself is http://www.kubbgame.com/kubb-rules.htm

The Kubb Championship will consist of heats and then a final round, with the winner being the inaugural recipient of a Kingdom Level Award and Token. A more detailed breakdown of the specifications, rules and judging for the Lochac Championship will follow as they are solidified.

The Day itself will run from 10am til 5pm and will include other activities and Medieval games, such as archery, dancing, nine pin bowling, card and board games etc.

Price is Members $7 and Non-Members $10. Bring any Period games or activities you have. The day starts at 10am and will run to 5pm, and the venue is the Eaton Foreshore, Eaton (Eaton is 5 minutes North of Bunbury, which is 2 and a half hours south of Perth, Western Australia). Lunch is Pot Luck.

Travelers from afar are more than welcome to join us on this most auspicious day (you will always be able to fondly recount your experience at the first Lochac Kubb Championship…)
