Odysseus's Home Identified?

British researchers believe that boreholes and seismic imaging prove they have pinpointed the homeland of Homer's hero Odysseus.

The peninsula of Paliki on the island of Cephalonia is the spot they claim as Ithaka. Homer describes Ithaka as an island, but the peninsula was at one time separate from the mainland until its channel filled up with earthquake rubble. Modern seismic survey methods enabled the team to locate the former channel.
