Frisina said that portions of the opera depicting Heaven will use classical music, while rock, punk and rave will be used to "create a hellish atmosphere." Most of the libretto will be taken directly from the poem.

Rock and roll music will represent Hell in a new opera based upon Dante's medieval epic, The Divine Comedy. The composition by Monsignor Marco Frisina will premiere in Vatican City.
