This year's Estrella War will once again offer a Combat Cookery Contest in which Kingdoms may sponsor teams to prepare a period meal for four people using their own utensils and ingredients unknown to them before the competition.

According to the rules:

The purposes of this competition is to facilitate an interest in and appreciation of well-executed "period" cooking. The quality of cookery, variety, originality, flavor, and presentation/visual appeal of food will be of primary consideration. Because we are a historical re-creation organization with a strong interest in the pre-1600 AD time period, significant consideration in judging will be taken concerning recipes used, cooking methods/tools/techniques, and settings created for the presentation of the food. No documentation will be required or judged in this competition.
