Hound Lure Coursing

Friday, February 16th at 9:00 AM (before fighting)
Saturday, February 17th at 9:00 am (before fighting)
Location: Main Battlefield

The medieval spectator sport of hound coursing was enjoyed by royalty and nobles alike throughout the middle ages. Hounds would be released to chase hare through open fields while lords and ladies cheered from the ground or followed along on horseback. It wasn't important that the dogs caught the rabbit, only that they gave a spectacular show of pursuit.

Please join us Thursday, Friday and Saturday on the battlefield to partake in the spectacle of coursing. We'll be recreating the hunt complete with fewterers, hunt masters, agile hounds and a very fake bunny (no hares will be harmed in this recreation, we promise). Bring your hounds (all are welcome, no experience necessary!) to give it a try or just bring yourself to watch - either way you'll have a great time.
